Privatizing airports benefits no one but rich investors. The NDP and the labour movement are united in the fight ahead.
Today, members of Unifor’s Aviation Council and aviation sector met with other unions and federal NDP leader Avi Lewis to discuss strategies, including creating a united plan, to fight airport privatization.

Democrats in North Carolina are experiencing "NDP 2011 Syndrome"
Lakesha Womack also knocked out Tim Moore, the architect of 2010s Republican North Carolina, who drew himself a seat in Congress two fucking years ago and blew it in one term.
It's very funny because Cyril Jefferson is an entirely conventional House candidate (medium-sized city mayor, High Point has like 115,000 people), while Lakesha Womack was literally homeless like five years ago.

Manitoba's NDP kept their deficit to half of Ontario's, and they still hired thousands of health care workers and started a school lunch program. Doug Ford is running a record deficit and buying himself a private jet. That's the difference an NDP government makes.

It is a truly amazing coincidence that every change proposed in these new maps advantages the UCP and disadvantages the Alberta NDP.
Alberta’s contentious new riding boundary maps tabled in the legislature | Globalnews.ca
The NDP claims the UCP is aiming to use its legislative majority to gerrymander the new boundaries, in order to give themselves an unfair advantage in the 2027 provincial election.

The NDP using deficit spending as a chest thump is exactly one of the ways in which the NDP tracks rightward into centrism. My guess is that the Ontario NDP is full of washed up Liberals

“It’s time to break up the Big Grocery Cartel and drive down costs with a national network of public grocery stores that Canadians can actually afford to shop at.”

NDP leader Avi Lewis has called for public grocery stores and an end to grocery monopolies.

As the @ndp.ca critic for Women and Gender Equality, I was proud to join our leader @avilewis.ca and the NDP caucus urging the Liberal government to recommit support for the Federal 2SLGBTQI+ Action Fund.

If had this leadership last election from the NDP it would either be a minority liberal government with NDP holding the balance or perhaps even an NDP minority.

There was a huge vacuum in leadership in the NDP leaving Liberal and Cons with poor Elizabeth May practically having to it herself.

A very tangible lesson for the Alberta NDP next year: go hard on data centres. Nobody wants them, and Smith has tied herself to them.
Absolutely wild list of results for data centre ballot measures in the US

"that's 28 measures across 25 localities, all opposing data centres" - EVERY SINGLE LOCALITY VOTED TO OPPOSE DATA CENTRES

WILD RESULTS + A CLIMATE WIN

Marit Stiles’ Ontario NDP is not on the same level as Wab Kinew’s Manitoba NDP. That said, if they now aspire to be more like their Manitoba cousins, I’m all for it.

Albertans want a government that will reduce the cost of living, fix health care, and create good jobs. These are the priorities of the Alberta NDP.

In case depressed Canadians forgot, we DO actually have a real progressive option (since our two other largest parties are right wing).

The NDP came out today proposing a wealth tax that would apply to people worth more than $10 million to pay for public grocery options, housing and healthcare.

The BC NDP can rehabilitate their image by rebranding as the BC Liberals. Heck, the Alberta NDP can rebrand as the Alberta Liberals too. I don't know what the federal NDP should switch to.

I'm liking the direction that Avi Lewis is taking the NDP.

All these stories of Democrats who ran in R+30 districts on a lark and are now elected officials reminds me of the 2011 NDP "Orange Crush" in Quebec where NDP turnout was so unexpectedly huge that a bunch of 21-year-old McGill students who were running to pad their résumés accidentally became MPs
