tbf I don’t mind actual nestorians but evangelicals “personal relationship with jeebus” reinventing the bass ackwards version from first principles is just stupid
just want to point out that there are still a couple of nestorian churches (or at least churches that can trace their roots back to other side of the nestorian schism), one of the biggest of them has an HQ in chicago, and its patriarch was the one that gave pope leo a cubs jersey

it's crazy that, since the 1980s, all of the relevant parties have sort of admitted that the ancient, Christological disputes that caused a bunch of early schisms (Nestorians/Armenian Apostolic Church/Church of the East) were all just a whole lot of linguistic confusion

look mark if you don't teach your kid about the relative positions of the three persons of the trinity at home they're going to hear about it from their friends, who might be monophysites or nestorians or what have you. you don't want to take that chance
