#NetPol
Netpol just unexpectedly got a mention for the fact we were "overwhelmed by concerns about the impact of the ban" in the summer of 2025.

We were – there was genuine panic and real fear

The problem with the argument that Palestine Action was "covert" arises from them taking basic security measures against police surveillance that, in some instances, were based on advice given by Netpol. And ignores the truth that the state was deliberately seeking to disrupt opposition to Elbit

Two months ago, a group of campaigning organisations (including all the Palestine Coalition members) sent a letter coordinated by Netpol to the Mayor of London, raising the alarm over the limits and restrictions the Metropolitan Police imposes on protests in London.

There has been no response

We’re All in the Dock at the Supreme Court With Palestine Action
After 15 months of our civil liberties being dismantled, this is Palestine Action co-founder Huda Ammori’s last chance on British soil to overturn the government’s ban, writes Steven Methven.

After 7 years of constant attacks on the right to protest, we are all tired of asking the state to change when it has consistently shown it has zero interest in doing so.

Our right to protest – and how we defend it - Netpol
It’s time we took the defence of our right to protest into our own hands. Does the ‘right to protest’ mean legal protections for “peaceful protest”, or “lawful protest”, or only protests that cause no disruption? You may not know for certain, but you might expect the politicians who make our laws, or who are […]

It's bullshit like that explains why, after 7 years of relentless attacks on the right to protest, we are desperately tired of asking the state to change when it self-evidently has zero interest in doing so.

Next week Netpol will launch a new “ Definition of the Right to Protest” – what campaigners collectively expect and demand from the police when those with power are not listening, and we need, even temporarily, to take disruptive action.

This continues to get virtually no coverage in the British press. We only hear about it because of dedicated groups of people with a functioning conscience like NetPol
Police "stormed" the Parents For Palestine block in July, terrifying families. Officers then targeted a Muslim family joining the march, after failing to protect them from racist harassment by counter-demonstrators.

It’s vital that we stand in solidarity with people who have no choice but to mask at protests, whether for health, privacy or religious reasons. They are now at high risk of arrest and fall into two groups – people most likely to face arrest and those who are now likely to avoid protests altogether.

This is bloody outrageous in my opinion!

Netpol is an organisation worthy of your support!

A member of our team was, inevitably, wearing a face mask while presenting the Netpol workshop at the Bristol Anarchist Bookfair today

With new police anti-masking powers here, many are confused about the legality of wearing a mask at protests. Our new zine explains the new police powers and explores how we can stand in solidarity with those who cannot afford to go unmasked at protests. Order your copy now shorturl.at/httBh

I'm going to leave it here I don't really want to continue arguing on the internet, I will just say, and I don't mean this to be an insult it is just an observation, you don't know enough about this subject. Look at what netpol and other groups are saying. Read up on it.

Don't usually disagree with NetPol, but terrorism DOES have a meaning. PA proscription watered down the meaning, allowed political interference. That doesn't change the fact that Tommo came to Belfast during a pogrom, was inspired by proscribed paramilitary orgs & brought those tactics to Dover.

Lots of people still need to wear a mask in 2026. Lara Wong, of Clinically Vulnerable Families, writes for Netpol on why new police powers to create mask-free zones at protests (and arrest everyone for wearing one) is a public health issue, not just a public order one netpol.org/2026/09/15/w...

"Face masks at protests: If not now, when?"

A piece Netpol wrote for @freedompress.bsky.social in April 2025 that argues: if a campaign of mass non-compliance is too difficult for many to endorse, then we still need to know what meaningful solidarity looks like freedomnews.org.uk/2025/04/02/f...
