im like 80% sure it was /r/netsec but a while ago a researcher posted a bunch of infosec epubs with malware and a bunch of people including knows their shit guys got popped before anyone noticed it

literally these are books that would be pulped if not bought for 10 cents on the dollar.

there's no need to get outraged by every single thing. book destruction is not some kind of sin. it's not like they're trashing rare editions. lots of books get pulped all the time. now you're just looking for ways to be mad.

Ya know, back in uni, I had several people in the CS course ask why I was learning reverse engineering,

Microsoft ignored netsec experts and forced Windows Recall, Copilot sucks, Crowdstrike fucked over airlines, one update bricked a fuckton of Gigabyte laptops, and the latest update is corrupting data and causing SSD failures.
Windows is not worth it anymore.

But we could simply force all AI model companies to release their model weights openly.

Slow down frontier model development. Bring open weights to current frontier. Build out local inference providers, stabilize hardware prices, focus on cost and token throughput for a bit. Get our software updated to handle what's being thrown at us.

Stop scrolling and use Display Filters in Wireshark. Don't just rely on capture filters! `http.request.method == "POST"` is your best friend for spotting exfiltration in real-time. Work smarter, not harder. 🕵️♂️
