#Neuroinflammation+barrier
This is a virus that crosses the blood-brain barrier.
It causes microclots, neuroinflammation, and neuron death.
And yet the public message is:
“Just get it and move on.”

Macrophage invasion into the Drosophila brain requires JAK/STAT-dependent MMP activation in the blood–brain barrier
The blood-brain barrier prevents immune cells and pathogens from entering the brain. This study shows that during neuroinflammation in Drosophila, immune cells can cross the blood-brain barrier by deg...

In fact, using medications to reduce neuroinflammation can *help* reduce those upstream causes, for instance, less neuroinflammation can result in improved blood-brain barrier function, a reduction in ROS, and more efficient use of glucose.
