Also worth dusting off Nifflas' other superb platformers, Within a Deep Forest and Knytt Stories - which has one of the great all-time game soundtracks by Nurykabe, maybe now better know for the Stray OST.

I used to carry around a USB stick in high school with a bunch of little indie games on it lol... Nifflas' stuff, Audiosurf, some of Yahtzee's point and clicks...

Control had some of my favorite out of bounds glitching in any game (check this video out for example)
Now I'm buying Control Resonant and making sure to turn off game updates, so I can find my way out of the map before it's patched (what a way to get me to buy an AAA game full price)

theres a free rerelease of it for modern machines on steam & GOG that was released this August. Nifflas is also working on a new platformer called rhythm doggo that has a free, open playtest going on rn

I just bought ynglet and have been having a really lovely time so far! It's by Nifflas, the Knytt dev and looks like a kid drew a microscope slide of pond water from memory. Its movement is really fun, it has very customizable difficulty, had a demo, & is on sale for $3.19 rn so i rlly recommend it

Knytt stories is a game by Nifflas. It is a kind of MetroIdvania builder, I guess? Came with a robust story creator, and people still make stories for it to this day! Lovely soundtrack.

Yes, I got all the power cells without any hints or guides or assists. Very well-made game and it makes complete sense that WADF and Knytt would be influences. Now hopefully Nifflas can play it and complete the circle of life (as long as it doesn’t delay rhythm doggo :))

Check out Knytt Underground from 2012… I love it so much, I started making a clone/homage to it in 2020. Also check out the other games by original developer Nifflas - Ynglet is beautiful and interesting, and their upcoming Rhythm Doggo… sort of Animal Well x GarageBand.
