One of those places that can be considered regional borders. Col du Nivolet/Colle del Nivolet. At 2612 masl, this pass joins Piemonte and Valle d’Aosta through my Italian fave national park.

Yesterday at Colle di Nivolet.
The plan was for me to wait till my friend walks around the lakes but something went wrong and I went too :)
Normally I walk without a crutch now, but it was rather a long walk for me on uneven terrain so I used it.

I think Nivolet is my very, very favourite paved cycling climb (and the unpaved options are aso stellar). And the three sides of Fauniera make it also one of the very best (also great gravel above/nearby). Paradise.

Among the new races for 2026 is Lyon-Torino. Local paper has more details, stage race will promote the high speed rail link (boring for 9km tunnel in Alps just started) torinocronaca.it/news/sport/5... (🇮🇹) Article also mentions Tour de l'Avenir will finish on the magnificent Colle del Nivolet

Colle del Nivolet - very pretty climb in Piemonte. Limited number of cars and motors bikes allowed during August which made it very bike friendly
