#NorEasters
My office was near there. After a couple of noreasters I found seaweed in the parking lot after the storm tide receded. With climate change that area doesn't have long before it will need to be evacuated.

Noreasters have been happening a very long time and they've been hammering the news with this one the last half week because of all the cancellations.

Excellent! I hope it stays that way. I lived through a few noreasters in Philadelphia. Even inland, they can produce heavy rains and flooding.

OMG NOreasters in September!!?

It's because when we have few or no major hurricanes in the Atlantic, it's means severe noreasters are coming later.

3 feet of ice that doesn't fully melt until the following JULY. Blizzards dropping just as much snow on top of the ice from the previous storm.

Storm of the century type scenario.

They don't bring any cool, they come from the coast or west of here, that's REALLY HOT... we need northerly winds or noreasters to knock the humidity down.. come on, wind, change directions!! Lol

my scheel had tornado drills despite being southeast virginia where there dont even really happen
noreasters and hurricanes and tropical storms are a bigger threat

South central PA usually doesn't get its first #snow until late January into February, & we love those surprise March Noreasters.🙄

I learned after dealing with evacuation warnings for wildfires, noreasters, hurricanes, tornadoes, and one bad flood that destroyed a lot of family photos and the lower floor of our home to digitize as much as I could. Nothing worse in the chaos and fear than coming back and having lost

MRG grad students Annabelle Horton and @mackenzieweaver.bsky.social gave talks on their Nor'easter research at the New Jersey Climate Change Research Symposium at Rutgers. Their talks are very relevant since NJ is vulnerable to the damages Nor'easters bring.

That suuuucks. My last apartment started flooding in from like cracks in the windows, only during noreasters, and with no known trigger. Never fixed afaik.

Found out I own like 15 towels though...

It’s been fairly dry in Portland. Seattle and points south (Bay Area) have been getting our precip for awhile now. Mine is too short to braid but too long to maintain order. Does PA get Noreasters or is that more North like New England?

"Nor’easters feed on the heat of the oceans. That’s why they become so strong. This storm actually had an eye-like feature. It was as strong as -- measured by the central pressure of the storm -- nearly as strong as a Cat3 hurricane."
