A campaign is underway, led by Minjie Chen of the Cotsen Children's Library, Princeton, to bring more visibility to the work of translators in library databases.

also those worldcat records are done by librarians in OCLC member libraries, not OCLC. And they describe facts, and shouldn't be copyrightable. Both of which OCLC has long contested to try to keep its monopoly on collaborative cataloging.

OCLC provides the bare minimum to libraries, despises competition and sues people who try to compete, and now they're laying people off to use AI.
OCLC may be a non-profit but they've sure got that corpo soul.

i had not realized that parasitic vendor corporation OCLC also harassed baker & taylor with nuisance lawsuits. nationalizing OCLC needs to be a part of any serious plan to build amerikan library capacity
