DHS still can’t or won’t say what they did with the two U.S. citizens they detained on 9/30 and called CPD to request a vehicle for.
They first sent a statement about the South Shore raid—an entirely different incident—and when I asked again they sent this deeply unserious response.

Chicago Christkindlmarkt update: Due to severe overcrowding in past years, OEMC has reduced entrance capacity 80% (!!) from 5,000 to 1,000 people. This has caused very long lines and a deserted feel once you got in. 🧵

A totally normal thing to do on a vote that simply makes CPD/OEMC produce communications, to see if they’ve been truthful about not cooperating with an ICE raid on June 4.
Update: Alders Ray Lopez and Anthony Napolitano successfully moved to defer and publish this order after Alder Andre Vasquez presented it for passage. The move will delay a full city council vote on the order to a later date.

Bin ja auch nicht so Fan von Füßen, aber das wird langsam echt nervig, Orthopäd*in/Unfallchirurg*in für Weiterbehandlung zu finden, der*die auch Füße macht. Fast alle nur Schulter, Ellenbogen, Hüfte, Rücken oder Knie 😭. Eine Anfrage ist jetzt offen. Wish me luck

Back in 2008, my downstairs neighbors in the two-flat got no-knock raided with a battering ram in the middle of the night on a bad warrant. Jose ran to the laundromat to use the pay phone to call 911 (the last pay phone I know) and OEMC said they couldn't help because officers were already on scene.
The advice in this article simply isn’t true in our current environment.

Spilotro "never radioed their involvement. OEMC only identified Beat 1112A based on GPS, and later confirmed that these were the officers who pursued the Hyundai."
This was yet another policy violation & likely why CPD's significant role in the crash received no local media attention at the time.
