May 2025, still nothing. Appealed w/ OIPC. OIPC ordered CPS to release docs by Feb 7.

I was once laughed at by a Calgary police FOIP officer for complaining about their lack of helpfulness in pursuing a request.
He mockingly instructed me to complain to the OIPC, but warned a resolution would take up to four years. (I did it anyway, but who would bother?)

However, what we have missed is the opportunity to send a strong message. The OIPC doesn’t have the resources for swift action, and sadly has limited enforcement powers, so X has won the immediate round.

One of my colleagues, @michellegamage.bsky.social, recently got an FOI back on police training for decriminalization policies over a year after the request and only after threatening to go to the OIPC.

An adjudicator's ruling merely confirms what was already obvious. The UCP gov't broke its own laws and went to great lengths to avoid disclosing politically unfavourable public records. Taxpayers paid for these records; they do not belong to a party. #ableg
