CHEMO UPDATE: Made it through 4.5 hours at TX ONC in the infusion room for all the infusions that were scheduled for me, including a bone density treatment. Slow eating still ~ had some toast and applesauce for breakfast. I have lots of meds to combat the expected side effects. p 1 of 2

Unfortunately, the monotony of scrubbing afforded my mind too many opportunities to climb out of my skull and wander into dark corners. I let a pair of underwear splash into the soapy water. “Probably oughta soak, anyway.” The empty bathroom didn’t respond. I stuffed my arms into a jacket and gave myself a once-over in the dingy hall mirror. Beneath the layers of bruises, a spatter of faded red freckles ringed my eyes and mouth, the last visible reminder of my poison-induced coughing fits. Once the petechiae healed, there’d be no glancing at me and knowing how close I’d come to suffocating. I wondered if Anthony would find a way to kill me by the time the pinpricks of blood were absorbed back into my body, as a way of leaving his mark on me for good.

It is so difficult, tbh I take neutropenic precaution/any cancer patients as a priority, because leaving them in the lobby is such an insane risk with that many people crowded in one space. Thankfully my hospital has an insanely good onc unit that takes patient's very quickly!! I love them
