#OPTICs
Here @FoxNews y’all left out some context

Trump isn’t canceling Israel’s funding — he’s doing what Netanyahu told him to do for optics, as they merge our military with Israel’s instead 🤨

Someone must've told him making his last stand at Alamo wasn't the best optics.

Very likely they will stand down - terrible optics *and* terrible as a business move
Honestly, I doubt that Google is going to actually end up doing this.

"Encourage students to learn to use other search engines" is a terrifically bad business decision.
Google is now threatening America's schools, saying they will turn off their core search functions if schools choose to entirely block AI.

so much fucking bullshit about strategy and what optics are best and how you gotta be mega careful about everything but push come to shove puncturing the personal ego of these shitheads in one way or another gets the most results

Politics is an optics game and AES is winning.

Over the past 48 hours, El Sayed has managed to 1) signal Black congressional support AND 2) have a measured conversation on a news outlet that is no longer measured. That's leadership. #midterms
watching AES's calm and confident interview on 60 minutes and haley stevens meltdown on anderson cooper it is once again worth noting that during the primary the political press portrayed AES as the unhinged, undisciplined extremist and Stevens as the reasonable and professional moderate.

How I'm monitoring the results
November 3, 2026 at 9:17 PM
lol, as if the optics of cancelling then uncancelling is better!

i feel absolutely sure he initially wrote “color his pieces” and then he got cowardly about the optics

constructicons writing poetry about prowl but it's raunchy as hell and makes his optics twitch
November 2, 2026 at 7:09 PM
And a lot of people on the left who suddenly start caring about ~optics~ the moment this happens.

Even if they've spent years agreeing that it's pointless to care about ~optics~ given the nature of the UK media.

Oct. 31, 1926: Narinder Singh Kapany, a physicist who coined the term fiber optics and gave the first practical demonstration of how to bundle thin glass wires for transmission of data, is born in Moga, India. The U.S. immigrant wrote several books and founded startups to advance the technology.

I mean I think their logic is "well this way they can't say we're snubbing Black voters, I still did a Black church."

Which is a logic that makes sense if your political apparatus includes precisely zero Black people and zero people who understand electoral race optics/the perils of tokenization
