When ICE was in Cheboygan last week one of my friends, he's Odawa, and one of our 'white' friends went out looking for them because the Odawa "looks Mexican". JFC this country needs an enema.

We don't know much about her, and she's awfully nonchalant about these events. What I'm curious about is why an Odawa woman? Not that I have any reason to think it shouldn't be, but why be specific that this portal, this griot if you will, is Odawa?

I have the sense that they navigated their world with more ease than I do. Binashih, my first banned Anishinaabe ancestor, was also French and was a chief. At the time, the US government complained abt the Odawa insisting that all their relatives be “counted” as Odawa.
