“Bike lanes are horrible because they stop abruptly and leave me stranded”

There’s a deep irony in the sheer number of comments I get from Europeans on these videos calling me an ignorant American, despite me clearly stating I live in Canada.

i live in Innsbrook, VA, a mixed-use development in Glen Allen, which itself is a suburb of Richmond. i would kill for contiguous sidewalks, let alone crosswalks. bike lanes are a luxury i won't see here in my lifetime. #OhTheUrbanity is right!

3/3 And I found out @OhTheUrbanity had a reference to my adventures in sports in a script so I recorded a live take for them.

One of the biggest things would developing smaller scale, Dutch style suburbs (there is a really good, short OhTheUrbanity about them). It would allow for new ones to have higher densities, be more walkable, and probably cheaper to own and rent because of the smaller homes and lots

Being a public figure and possibly the only face of public transit in this country, it is bound to happen. I assume Notjustbikes and Ohtheurbanity get this as well.

I’m glad you’re here. You and a few other urbanist accounts like streetfilms or OhTheUrbanity were the main thing keeping me on X. It’s nice to be free of that gross place and have more interesting conversations without being swarmed by trolls, pornbots, crypto-scammers and other junk.

If you're stuck in a zero-sum debate about whether #transit should be better OR fareless, you're probably already in a politics of service-cutting downward spiral with a not-elected and not-riding transit board play-acting as a business.

What's Montreal doing? Sounds like they've elected a car-hugging anti-urban government to force themselves to sit in traffic. At least you'll be able to admire the borrowed car in the lane next to you while you wait.
