The baby cardinal's eyes are open! Amazingly it should be fledging in 4 - 6 days from now Parents are working very hard and there are frequent nest visits with food

I saw both parents had just left and were across the road so it was a good time to sneak out and check the nest....

2 fairly newly hatched chicks, I was getting suspicious they had hatched yesterday as there was more activity of the parents going back and forth from the nest Nest is in the middle of this part of the wisteria on my front porch I had been trying to train this wisteria along properly when the cardinals started nesting, so I've been waiting

Had some turkey vulture visitors today

As someone with small dogs I'm always on high alert for big birds in the yard, but these guys are harmless

Crab spider on my upper arm after I'd let it crawl up my arm while I walked outside and gently encouraged it into another good habitat for it I have an enourmous phobia of heights, so I understand phobias, but I don't understand arachnophobia, they're so harmless and so good for our gardens and homes Heights can hurt you. We're ment to stay on the ground.

If you look on the left most tree, just below the 3rd powerline, that is an owl 😊 It was far too dark to get an accurate ID but we have a local barred, and this one fits that size Another bird I shared with my friend (see cardinal post)

Didn't see the parents so went to check the nest, when mom came out of the brush to chastise me, which she's never done before, but now I see why

I found a little friend on my wild grapes ❤️

I believe this is Hyla versicolor or the Grey tree frog, which has the ability to change its coloration like a chameleon

They are native and love to hang on my front door windows at night if I've left the outside lights on
