Next - three #OpenClusters with very different stories #NGC6791 is 8 billion years old, #NGC6939 rocks in at 1 billion while #M29 is the baby at 10 million years old. It's interesting science - most clusters are done and dusted (dissolve) after 500 million... yet some survive MUCH longer 🔭 2/5

The Pleiades star cluster, also known as the Seven Sisters, is a young, open cluster of stars located in the constellation Taurus. Its hot, blue stars are surrounded by a faint, wispy nebula, remnants of the gas from which they formed.

Not all stars are born alone. Many form in star clusters, groups of stars that share a common origin and age. #StarClusters #StellarEvolution #OpenClusters

Many stars exist in open clusters, relatively loose groups of stars that formed from the same giant molecular cloud. These clusters eventually disperse over time. #OpenClusters #StarClusters #StarFormation

Some exoplanets have been detected orbiting stars in open clusters, less dense groupings of stars than globular clusters. Studying these planets can provide insights into how planetary systems form and evolve in different stellar environments. #OpenClusters #ExoplanetEnvironments #StellarClusters
