The CEO Mark Carew invented the V-Slot extrusion in 2013. We use them on the Bear because the V shape offered an easy alignment during the assembly and more flexibility for the printed parts (no support needed).

Overnight #3dprinting success with a couple of Ryobi vacuum adapters, a wide one from Thingiverse [credit to follow] and one I designed to fit the 6mm slots in #openbuilds extrusions.
Perfect fit first time, using an inner taper of 32 to 30mm diameter over 50mm.

In the meantime, let me introduce you to my custom H-frame plotter! I built this using OpenBuilds extrusions and wheels, with 3D printed parts and an arduino uno running GRBL. The system has a shallow z-axis and custom mounts to allow for different tool heads, so it's more than just a #penplotter!

Not off the top of my head, if you haven't checked openbuilds and crowdsupply definitely give them a look. I don't remember if there's any in the OSHWA directory.

All got genuine Openbuilds wheels, bimetallic heatbreaks [later Revo] mains heated beds, Edumaker remixed Marlin 2.0 firmware.
Result was printers that are still relevant even now we 'replaced' with Bambu P1S, just not quite as fast.

As a Co2 laser owner, if you can meet your needs with a router instead, that's probably the easier, cheaper, and safer route. I don't know about CNC software specifically but OpenBuilds CONTROL looks pretty nice.
