'though nobody will be able to see the bank interior very well, if at all, I was having too much fun to just stop. Best time of all was making the typewriter.

Here's a view of the bank as you drive by on Second Street just east of Oostland Ave.
(Much of the heritage here is Dutch, 'tho some Germans still insist this place is Port Adler, as it was known before WWI)

Too perfect Chris & Chris, ex-jock & cheerleader, soon to be Mr. & Mrs. Chris & Chris, are going in to see Mr. Smith, bank president, about a home loan. They probably don't know how their parents snubbed Mr. Smith back in high school.

Down in "Fishtown", where the Hutchinson Bros. are building the first new boat here since WWII, it doesn't look like they'll get the engine in place and the house over it before snow flies.

Pretty excited about this one. Scan a box at the train show and CCMF Trains tells you on the spot: Owned ×2, On wantlist, or "add it".

Check off checklists, build your wantlist and spot for friends — all from the camera. On your phone. Now. 🚂 #ModelTrains #OScale

Fear of finishing? Here's one of the several nearly complete scenes in my dioramas. There's a glaring omission of pavement and other ground cover. Not hard to do, but will it then be done with me and me with it?

A few examples of things I've been building in 1/48 scale from cannibalized broken toys, bits of electronics, mat board, watch bands, paper, paper clips, plastic, wood, aluminum, steel, etc., etc.

Recently found a little jackhammer guy in a junque shop. Alas, he had no air compressor. Had to build him one from scraps. Now, he's trying to wreck my cutting mat. Luckily, he has no sound.

Most everyone calls him "That Red-Headed Kid" and like other 15 year-olds, he's crazy for cars. Laurette, who manages the Salt Box Inn, calls him "Son" and tries to get him to do some yard work, rather than ogling her guests' autos.

Chet Haines' son-in-law, Arnie, was out at the junk yard today showing off his "new" 7-yr. old pick-up and sawing up some dead trees for firewood. "The kid's a pretty good worker", Chet concedes.

Coming soon, The Bank. What does an O-scale modeler do when he finds an HO-scale tunnel portal in his junk collection? Well, maybe this. Just a facade so far. More to come.

"double loop horseshoe udpated", a compact O-scale (1:45) layout by MOAA built around a double horseshoe design. The plan incorporates a central crossover and several sidings, providing opportunities for passing, switching, and varied train movements.

Of all places to run out of gas! Here's Phyllis on N. Van Buren Ave., just outside the offices of Murray Skynard, where she quit her job only 2 weeks ago. And do you think she can find a coin in her purse for the damned pay phone?

A day ago, this GBW boxcar rolled into town, looking brand new. Now, the local weather has already affected the car: rust streaks on the rivet lines, road grit on car sides and ends, trucks all rusty and gritty, etc. And it will only get worse.

There are those "concerned citizens" around town who think Chet Haines' untidy salvage yard should be removed, citing health and safety concerns. To some of us, though, it's a museum, a parts depot, and a sort of anti-social social center.

I like Lionel but I don’t like they keep making Ai images on products. Especially since they have a team of artist. $110 boxcar with very little detail on a 80+ years old design. Don’t be lazy Lionel hire artist!!!

O, The Expense!
How to: Buy for $2. at the resale a tin Chinese Christmas house, rework and glaze its 13 windows, add casings, make 2 doors, cornerboards. Paint chimney like brick, add chimney-top. Add front porch, rear stoop, & sign. Hmmm, you're still under $5.

Many wonder why #Digitrax limited their Extended Address range to a maximum of 9983. The answer: Aliasing, a legacy feature which is no longer in use.
