In data science we call this problem "overfitting." The author, David frum's son, has memorized a bunch of facts about Normal Men without understanding the deeper relationships between those facts. Thus he has weak predictive power when trying to say other normal things.

The reasons are not purely instrumental. Students should know what overfitting is for the same reason they should know what a sentence or an equation is; it’s just a matter of understanding the logic that governs the world around you.

Overfitting on language is precisely what business school teaches. The people who control the money can't tell the difference between fluency and intelligence.

I agree LLMs are challenging the way we perceive language and logical thought which is a great opportunity for you to expand your concept of Being Human beyond the ability to produce language and logical thoughts
