Trumps overreach to target Ilhan will backfire on him.

“From its inception, those in power have wielded DHS as a weapon. Widespread illegal and abusive detention of immigrants, violent racial profiling, and state overreach — including domestic surveillance, civil rights violations via the USA PATRIOT Act,” Ramirez said.

This is just petty nonsense overreach to bully the congress woman because of her color and country of origin.

Something something government overreach
BREAKING:

Premier Danielle Smith announces province will direct Edmonton to adopt infill housing rules that were in place before 2024, and require Calgary to maintain its current pre-2024 bylaw framework.

Trump uses DHS and DOJ as weapons to go after the people standing up to him. Raiding @ilhanmn.bsky.social home weeks before Election Day is the kind of overreach that should scare every single American.

I stand with Ilhan. We will never be intimidated into silence.
I’m ok. Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement. For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation.

I will not be silenced.

Toronto pushing back against provincial overreach.

Meanwhile in Edmonton, lawn signs and fear of multifamily housing.
Construction trucks leaving Bloor and Islington area after being successfully deterred from starting work on removing bike lanes in Toronto by a large protest.

i don't get how this isn't an overreach

It may (not) shock you to hear that these supposed right wing/libertarian leaders hate federal government overreach but love doing government overreach themselves. 😮

Looks like the UCP party, who campaigned on reducing government overreach, have a government overreach problem
October 9, 2026 at 6:24 PM
If only we had Danielle Smith, champion of municipal sovereignty, to fight back against this provincial overreach. /s

So, if I’m understanding this correctly, Federal overreach made you do Provincial overreach. #abpoli

Or using the feds as an excuse for her overreach

typical IL government overreach

This has to be the final straw, y'all. The Constitutional overreach that breaks the camel's back.
If there’s evidence of fraud or other financial crimes, let’s see it. But trying to denaturalize and deport a sitting member of Congress over mistakes a parent allegedly made on immigration forms when she was a child is immoral and reprehensible. We can’t stand for it.

Huh? 🤔

“So I would say that the overreach happened when the federal government came in and and bribed city councils.”

If we swap out “federal overreach” for UCP overreach, whine endlessly about urban-rural transfer payments and “sending rural Alberta a cheque”, and blither on about Edmonton “values”, then we get a referendum to separate Edmonton from Alberta, right? 🤔🤦🏼‍♀️😂 #Legit #ableg #abpoli

The UCP is a fucking dictatorship, irony about them whining about Fed overreach, when their reach is without limit.

There are allegations of corruption too! 🫨

I have plenty of hostility to corporate overreach, but to have any hope of fighting that overreach, we need governments to be on *our* side. But for our governments, it comes to cybersecurity, we are the enemy, and spying corporations are our governments' allies.

it’s a metaphor for liberal overreach

Decoupling school from "industrial education"--job training, corporate control, legislative overreach, standardized testing--should be the default progressive position on public education, but, instead, policymakers and groups like DFER have doubled down to preserve corporate capture of schools.
A couple of weeks ago, CNN interviewed Anika Prather about Hegseth's "remake" of DoD's schools, and she made an interesting comment about how the roots of classical education were an attempt to decouple school from "industrial education."

yes, it would be a dumb overreach that would almost certainly backfire in the long run- but they are only performing to the worst 50,000 people on twitter and have totally insulated themselves. the president has been more openly racist towards somalis than any president in like 80 years.
October 14, 2026 at 6:25 PM
Oh, sure, fine, it was probably a mistake to pass all those laws that men weren't allowed to write books. A real overreach of Liberalism, that one
