I have my many gripes with PACAF, but that is not a mistake they are making
- The PLARF is not an OWA or even ballistic force, they are an HGV and high speed cruise missile force. That is a fundamentally different discussion about interceptors needed and efficacy (in all directions)

Closest I got was telling PACAF/CC his underlying assumptions wrt certain PLA training, tactics, equipment and doctrine were wrong.
Could hear my SQ/CC’s ass making diamonds when I did that…
Got coined by him (PACAF/CC) later in part because of it though.

I'm mostly neutral on his tenure at PACAF operationally, but his time at ACC should be disqualifying for anyone who supposedly cares about ~warfighting~, although if you're interested in instituting implicitly racist policies he's your guy

anyway as anyone who has tried to deal simultaneously with USARPAC+8A or PACAF+7AF can tell you, subunified commands are amazing for span of control and COMREL simplification and result in no unnecessary complications or complexities at all

This is really good for two reasons
- it honestly addresses active defense math in the FIC
- it stays focused on the SIF and doesn't venture off into, eg, HAS discourse. What the MARFORPAC SIF needs is (marginally) different from what the USARPAC MDTF needs is different again from what PACAF needs

This is really good for two reasons

He was at 7AF/Korea and then PACAF, which was..........fine, but went to the largest command in the AF and proceeded to tell everyone his top priorities were:
- uniform inspections
- denying shaving waivers

I used to get a trip to Hawaii annually to visit JICPAC, PACAF, and a table top show at Camp Smith. OTH, I also got to do Barranquilla, 🇨🇴 when the guerrillas were active.

If you can convince some technologically illiterate dude on staff at PACAF that you will solve every logistics problem ever by doing an AI at it, you may be able to get a phase 1 grant.

Since hostilities kicked off in 2023, they had 4-6 ADA battalions in the CENTCOM region, and they just keep sending more. That's like 2x more than what the entire INDOPACOM has on a permanent basis. My dawg, there are no LRASMs in the EUCOM. F-22s from PACAF were in the CENTCOM area.

But I'm also not convinced the PLARF is the destroyer of worlds, where Xi just presses one single button and all of PACAF evaporates. However, the idea we're behind and everyone should be mad pervaded. What differed is what people thought we were behind on and what we should focus on.

I was at PACAF in January and there were GOs who thought this admin might actually be tough on China and funnel resources from centcom to IP. I gave my opinion to everyone who’d listen that this was just a wishcasting fantasy.

as best I can tell the authors make no distinction between types of sorties or planned weapons/effects and just plan to keep blasting at the PLAAF until they're all gone and then start dropping bombs on ships in the Strait

I think you have to go back to the Pacific Theater in WW2 tbh. The way the ground force's fate is largely in the hands of the Navy and PACAF.

Granted, I was an Air Force brat, but I don’t recall seeing any firearms outside of training areas during the 70s, 80s, or 90s. PACAF was briefly a laughing stick in the late 80s when it’s CO demanded all of its officers be issued a personal handguns (.38 revolvers).

2025年5月17・18日の2日間にて米空軍横田基地にて「横田基地日米友好祭/フレンドシップフェスティバル2025」が開催されます。
5月14日のT-4練習機の墜落事故でお二人の隊員の方がまだ見つかっておりません。
なんとかご無事を祈るばかりです。
大変残念ですが、この事故により航空自衛隊機はすべて不参加となるようです。
この事故は今後の航空祭にも影響しそう…。
太平洋航空団(PACAF)所属のF-16チームのパフォーマンスが予定されており、このチームはF-35へ機種更新があるためF-16でのデモはこれが最後となるようです。
足をお運びになる方は免許証などの身分証をお忘れなく。
