PAG is one of those conferences I didn't expect to enjoy the first time, but once here, I absolutely loved it. There’s so much exciting research and innovative technology to learn about! #PAG32

Our first 2025 conference! 🎉
@asimjaved.bsky.social and I are headed to #PAG32 to dive into genomics and present some exciting clubroot findings. A huge thank you to Alberta Canola, SaskOilseeds, Manitoba Canola Growers, WGRF, @genomequebec.bsky.social, and NSERC for their invaluable support. 🙌

I am looking for a speaker for the "Plant Gene Expression Analysis" workshop at the PAG32 conference in January. There are no funds to support speakers unfortunately. Other confirmed speakers are @tralee-sci.bsky.social, Colleen Doherty and Ronan O'Malley. Please message me if you are interested!

On Tuesday at #pag32 I'm presenting on ancient Brucella melitensis (Palm 7, 2:10pm) and then ancient goat imputation (Palm 8, 6:25pm for the hardcore).

Another year, another successful trip to #PAG32. Attended several talks that will affect the way I carry out my work for the better. Meeting old friends and making new ones also brings me joy. Though I had a lot of fun, I can't wait to see my dog again 😭. Until next year ✌️

Stop by the Bayer booth at #PAG32 and try to solve the Bayer puzzle hunt for a chance at some sweet botanical legos
January 13, 2025 at 7:55 PM
I'm excited to attend #PAG32 along with several Bayer Crop Science colleagues. Stop by our booth #318 to chat about Health for All, Hunger for None. I would love to chat about anything Eukaryotic genome assembly/annotation, gene regulation, and disease resistance.

@angelakranz.bsky.social presenting DataPLAN as part of the @nfdi4plants.bsky.social data management consortium at #PAG32. It makes data management plan generation painless, works online and you immediately see what happens. Try it dmpg.nfdi4plants.org or read about it here doi.org/10.3390/data...

On my way #PAG32! Excited to reunite with so many friends and colleagues working on plant and animal genomics, and to be giving a talk at the Wildlife symposium!

#PAG32 ? As we add high quality plant genomes, it is clear that there is a crazy amount of gene duplication/deletion occurring along every lineage in most genes.

So what are peoples guesses as to how many true 1:1 orthologues actually exist across just angiosperms?

Mostly paralogues?

Grateful to work with these amazing evolutionary geneticists in my lab! Here’s 1/5th of my lab after my talk today at PAG32 in the Molecular Ecology symposium!

If you're going to PAG32 in San Diego, here are 2 talks from my lab! Sunday, 1/12, 3:10 PM - my PhD student Tamsen Dunn in the Polyploidy sessions - Pacific E & Tuesday, 1/14, 11:30 AM - me in the Molecular Ecology sessions (presenting work by my PhD student Margaret Wanjiku) - Town and Country B.
