PBEM - Policy Based Evidence Making
Currently trying to resurrect the YOSPOS SMAC PBEM thread. A Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri game that we've been running via Play-By-EMail (PBEM) since 2017: forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.p...

Playing @middleearth.quest reminds me of #PBM and #PBeM (play-by-mail and play-by-email) where there's a big time factor to consider before it's your turn again.
It's very casual as far as time alloted is concerned. But serious when it's your turn.
I wonder how many still remembers PBM and PBeM. 😆

Can't recommend enough that Portlanders do some sort of disaster preparedness organizing, either through city-provided resources or autonomously.
If you're ready for a regional apocalypse, then you might be a step ahead of other looming calamities, too.

Neighborhood Emergency Teams (NETs)
Neighborhood Emergency Teams are Portland residents trained by PBEM and Portland Fire & Rescue to provide emergency disaster assistance within their own neighborhoods.

More Great War little ships, 1/2400 scale models from GHQ for my Pacific 1914 PBEM game (soon to start I hope). German light cruiser SMS Koenigsberg, though she could also be her sister ship SMS Nurnberg. #navalwargaming

I've not yet seen this ordinance proposal, but I'm open to working with colleagues to fill critical gaps in public safety, most notably the Fire Rescues & position losses at PPB, PBEM, & 911.
But my stance on funding sources has not changed.
Hands off the Community Board for Police Accountability.

Stay tuned for an ordinance to restore those cuts that will be brought to Council outside of the standard budget process.

Prasad previously announced that he intends to start with the conclusions he wants and work backwards to produce the "evidence."

I don't remember what X is. I wanna say 30? I don't know.
Anyways, this was a problem for the burgeoning number of PBeM (Play By e-Mail) games that were spinning out of the discussion boards I was on, and participating with.
So, being teenagers, we found a solution. (3/x)

It’s a great term, one I learned here.
Also, an opportunity to remind people that if Vinay Prasad revisits the pandemic with any future research in his new position, he’s announced the “results” already.
