First you go scouting. You leverage your network to identify 8-12 promising partners in the US. Ideally you want someone who can do your PCBA electronic assembly and your injection molded plastic but that’s very rare in the US, so you’re realistically looking at at least two different vendors.

on top of that, running a successful PCBA business is incredibly hard. every product is in some way unique, your customers have a _lot_ of capital on the line, your fabrication processes require constant babysitting and hate being disturbed in any way, and you make a commodity. insane constraints
