Absolut. Mit mangelndem Wissen allein lässt sich das alles nicht erklären. Es geht um Strukturen, Institutionen, Interessen, Macht, Geld, Ideologie. Faktoren, die dazu führen, dass Fehlbehandlung und Stigmatisierung aus Sicht der Handelnden angemessen und hochgradig "funktional" sind.

Gutted to read this, though I expected it. My parents met as PCVs in the 60s & it profoundly changed their lives, their in-country citizens’ lives, & their children’s (me!) perspective on global affairs. HANDS OFF US PEACE CORPS.
Most of those PCVs can’t afford what is usually an expensive plane ticket home, and their communities can’t easily replace them as teachers.
