My first computer experience with computers was in 1973, a PDP10, that we accessed with a teletype machine.
⌨️🖥️ The IBM 5100 is one of the first portable computers (with a weight of 24kg) from 1975. It comes with programming languages APL and BASIC, and in the slot on top, you can find references for many commands.

My first computer experience with computers was in 1973, a PDP10, that we accessed with a teletype machine.
I am aware of the history, and it never made sense, especially once 0x was added. Octal was a very specific hack for the PDP10.

i bought some forever web hosting deal and i don't really know what to do with it because the last time i ran a website was nearly 20 years ago and nobody ever looked at it or did anything with it. i guess my question is how to set up a remote hercules emulator or a simh pdp10 people can connect to

Wow thats a bit of interesting computing history Anne. I learned to programme in BASIC back in the early 80s. The old PDP10 mainframe final printouts on continuous stationery reminded me of college using a PRIME mini computer. Amazing how much I've forgotten over the years!

And I could be wrong about the machine’s manufacturer. I guessed UNIVAC because that’s what Mom ran her stuff on at the U a decade earlier. (It was a PDP10 at U of Utah that was Node 4 on ARPANET, 5 Dec 1969)
