he did prove useful, at least; an old tradition was setting permabanned users to have a negative post count (just -1×). fun way to find out that several of the toy RPG mechanics on the forum no longer like negative numbers as of php8

さっきはPDOでデータ取得したら数値データが数値型で取れる環境と文字列型にされる環境があった。

sometimes i think i've let my forum "die"; i'm not active on there (a few posts a month at best), it's very quiet, there are parts that are a little broken because of dreamhosts's forced-php8 migrations.
but then i look at the other ones from that era that are full of unmanaged spam, and. oof.

It's been brought to my attention that ComicControl isn't really being officially maintained and the main branch of it only supports PHP7 which is being end-of-lifed or something, so I switched the link to it on my links page to a fork someone made PHP8 compatible until Hiveworks touches it again 😭
