#PR-Headlines
Jeff Bezos’s CNBC interview made headlines this week.

He’s been on a PR campaign responding to his critics — myself included.

Hey Comic Publishers and comic websites,

PUT THE ARTIST’S NAME IN YOUR PR HEADLINES AND NOT JUST THE WRITER’S.

For fuck sakes.

i'm never sad to see discord take a PR hit but holy shit, this article is a perfect encapsulation of how everyone reads headlines and nothing else :(

Literally none of the headlines about the woman burned alive on the subway include the fact that at least one NYPD officer looked on and did nothing. So a reminder:

- Cops feel zero obligation to protect you

- Press can't be trusted to hold cops accountable, they're effectively the police PR wing

Transphobe "rally" with twelve miserable looking old women: Front page coverage for weeks, headlines screaming triumph for women and will reverberate through history.

10s of thousands from all walks of life take over Parliament Square: Buried below puff piece about PR stunt for some dumb robot.

Who is writing headlines at DC USAO that they used "hoagie" in the headline?

The spreadsheet “names more than 800 firms, assigning them to one of five stark categories:

“Caved to Administration”

“Complying in Advance”

“Other Negative Action”

“Stood Up Against Administration’s Attacks”

.. or “No Response.”

By creating a spreadsheet, Georgetown Law students sparked national headlines, along with PR headaches and staffing challenges inside the world's most powerful firms.

I feel like the Labour leadership is once again overestimating the vote-winning potential of a PR blitz. When some combination of universities and either the social care system or the councils that fund it start collapsing on your watch, no one's gonna care that you got a few good headlines first.

Having listened to @iwriteok.bsky.social break down the insular cultish weirdos in Silicon Valley and why they're obsessed with a new, benevolent AI god for 2 hours, I can no longer read these PR headlines with the same amused detachment as before.

"Could" is a long way from "will," in any event.

Genuinely impressed that the new #nzpol government has finally pushed headlines about smoking off the front page

By replacing them with headlines about how they’re going to ruin transport to the South Island

Nats PR strategy geniuses running a “just keep adding dead cats” strategy

PR crisis management team: look, the headlines are really, really bad. do you think you can get your brother to steal a car ASAP

Bottom line: Every single factoid you'll hear about agriculture is curated by the farm lobby & PR firms, & fed to you to make you panic & feel like you have to give farmers money. Or else.

Just... keep that in mind when you see panicky headlines.

The headlines on the SCOTUS SAVE ruling are doing Trump's PR for him. 2 things they skip

No mass voter purges before the midterms. The law bars them 90 days out & we're in that window

Noncitizen voting? FL, IN, IA & OH ran voters through SAVE & found almost NOTHING -TN

So the millionaire exodus was a complete work of fiction.... built on dodgy data from a company flogging golden passports to billionaires. Henley & Partners spun a PR stunt and the media ran with it. 10,000 headlines later, the truth emerges: less than 0.3% of UK millionaires left.

it's only ~200 words with barely any content. Stories like these are generated, it seems, *purely* for the attack PR headlines - it's anti-journalistic and anti-democratic for *any* media outlet to do this, let alone publicly owned outlets

'Zealand' needs better PR. All that makes headlines, is the new one

It’s hilarious how predictable it is that Travis getting some time off from football means they are back in nyc and on the PR clock. Gotta wrack up those headlines before he goes into playoffs mode and can’t go out

Reform UK want headlines about growth – but the real story is infighting, chaos and scandals. Today’s PR stunt won’t change that. ❌

Caving to Trump or complying in advance is not an option for law firms that value their future as advocates.

For all the noise Reform UK makes and the client journos hyping their every word, what have they actually achieved? Just a bunch of bootlicking hacks giving Farage free PR while he scams gullible voters. All that outrage, all those headlines - still, Starmer beats everyone 😅 #ukpolitics

“While much of the media was busy running a full-scale PR rehabilitation tour for Elon Musk—casting him as a bold disruptor who stepped away from government and claiming that his unauthorized DOGE project had merely failed to “cut waste,”—the real story slipped past the headlines”

The entire idea of nonviolent protest is a PR battle where you make the other side look bad by giving them headlines featuring them beating up women and old people.

The opposite approach ends up just a nominal excuse to indulge antisocial impulses.

Musk and Trump have pretty unmatched PR and survival skills, as much as I hate it. Musk pretending to be outside the regime quieted much of his blowback, and Trump giving in on the Epstein files has removed it from headlines. Yet both are more vulnerable than ever. It's the markets holding them up.
