Following the German invasion of Poland in September 1939, the Luftwaffe captured various Polish aircraft, including several PZL P.7a fighters. Some captured P.7as were used by the Germans for training, though the exact number of aircraft captured intact is not precisely documented. Most P.7as were either destroyed in combat during the September Campaign or damaged beyond repair on the ground during German air attacks. The captured P.7as that fell into German hands were primarily assigned to training duties.
