oh there it is. I've been trying to articulate my philosophical issue with pagination for months now ever since implementing a bunch of it gave me this brain worm.
pagination imposes total ordering on data that may not have a natural ordering, and this has downstream effects

I was thinking about this with pagination recently
the need to paginate data in my API responses actually _imposes_ a need for total ordering on a dataset that didn't previously have it. no order, no consistent pages.
it's the same with feeds. you need to be able to get paginated posts

Woo! All art completed now. Just need to check it over this weekend. Pagination, text. Make sure the cover fits the template.
This is literally the level of note taking that i'll work off. Clients are totally ok with stick figs. I do much worse.

- Try to add pagination to the "Updates" feed
- Update the pagination plugin so those can be auto-generated
- End up hitting two bugs that were closed as "resolved" in 2020

Similar gamble with publishers putting endnotes online to save on pagination. Great idea as long as the website lasts forever but you can pick up a book from 100 years ago and know the sources are all in there

Forms with view transitions are so much fun. I’m implementing pagination for my site and—getting distracted—I added a plain HTML form to the page to control the pagination cursors. I haven’t enhanced this with JS at all.
