It is not surprising to see that not all G2 panc NETs are created equal. Why would pNET w/ Ki67 of 4% behave the same as 20%. Indeed, they don't. Time to split up the G2 to G2a and G2b w/ 12% cutoff? G2b clearly more aggressive, more mets etc.

Is the other ALT (alternative lengthening of telomeres) ready for use in pNETs..? I think so, especially for prognostication after resection. Chromogenic ISH (CISH) easier to implement than FISH. Excellent stuff from Chris Heaphy, Aatur Singhi et al.

Interested in hearing some takes on this study/finding. I feel like it's potentially downplaying the threat to life posed by panNETs. Or is that a poor interpretation?
🧪 Pancreatic cancer rates in young adults are rising, but deaths remain stable. Annals of Internal Medicine attributes this to better imaging detecting nonlethal endocrine tumors, not adenocarcinoma. 🩺

Refining the Prognostic Blueprint for Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors
Refining the Prognostic Blueprint for Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors A recent study published in the Annals of Surgical Oncology focuses on refining prognostic stratification for Grade 2 pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (PanNETs). This research is critical for advancing personalized oncology, as accurate risk assessment directly informs treatment intensity, surveillance schedules, and patient counseling. The findings contribute to the evolving landscape of tumor classification, moving beyond traditional grading to incorporate novel molecular or clinicopathologic factors that better predict clinical behavior and outcomes in this heterogeneous disease.
