Together with colleagues from Africa CDC/ AVoHC and PanPrep´s GIZ, I am currently in Mwanza, Tanzania as part of the German Epidemic Preparedness Team SEEG to lead trainings for front line health care workers to support capacity building for the acute Ebola/BVD outbreak in the neigboring countries.

Great to see 60 healthcare professionals from across East Africa coming together to strengthen their practical skills for responding to Ebola and other high-threat infectious diseases. We are pleased to support this training together with the GIZ PanPrep project, Africa CDC and regional partners.

Through our #PanPrep programme (Pandemic Preparedness in the EAC Region), we are providing 500 full-body protective suits for medical staff treating Ebola patients and are preparing trainings on safe management of suspected cases.
