PARSIMONIOUS PATRIARCH PROMPTS PARSONS' PACKERSWARDS PERAMBULATION: report
August 28, 2025 at 9:20 PM
While this is a clever theory, I think probably the most parsimonious explanation is that he was just lying
ok, my theory is that Trump felt free to talk about releasing the Epstein files before the election because he assumed the government had nothing on him regarding Epstein. He figured Biden (Garland, Wray, whomever) would have ensured it was released if there was anything.

Epstein murdered is the more parsimonious explanation of the evidence by far
reading this, hard not to come to the conclusion that at the very least there’s been a big coverup of terrible incompetence. possibly something much worse.
Late in the day but this is really phenomenal work by CBS. I didn't think the story could surprise me anymore, but I exclaimed out loud several times reading this.

Wired is soaring because people don't want bullshit or parsimonious reporting that fails to acknowledge the magnitude of the crisis.
I had the privilege of talking to @apnews.com about WIRED's Elon Musk and politics coverage.

Most important thing: We're not slowing down, we're not stopping, and we're going to cover this story, relentlessly, for as long as we need to.

Not known for political coverage, Wired takes a leading role in tracking Elon Musk's team
The tech outlet Wired set up a new politics team in time for the presidential election — but its most impactful work is coming after the election is over.

Newspapers parsing the most legalistic and parsimonious reading of a statement to create a narrative of deception in the age of trump is pretty rich.
BTW I just wanna be clear: it's not that Zohran "misspoke" or was "slightly inaccurate."

He used the word "aunt" in a sense that has been common in the English language since 1750, and it's ridiculous to say "oh well you didn't SAY you meant sense 1.a. and not sense 1.b.

A more parsimonious explanation might involving racking your brains for other political movements at other times in history that have villainized and attacked similar sets of targets.

The most parsimonious explanation is that there is no reason more fully developed than “he wanted to”.

well, there is one parsimonious explanation...

Parsimonious explanation: Putin brainrot
September 9, 2026 at 4:45 PM
I think in this case the hypothesis that Wolf is just lying is more parsimonious.

the most parsimonious explanation for any record whatsoever of a day laborer / lay preacher in 1st century Judea is the existence of such a person.

They’re both democrats so it’s most parsimonious to assume she means both.

The fact we are in a War of Choice is exactly why the founders put in checks & balances into the Constitution-Congress has abdicated their powers & sinister forces in their ranks have put this democracy in peril. We must oust their parsimonious religious zealots & self-indulgent elements!

A typo in a research paper?, or the most parsimonious hypothesis on Shanshisuchus' religious beliefs? 🧐

Parsimonious incompetence always trumps conspiratorial malevolence, in my experience

"Daddy's Special Boy" is a parsimonious theory with tremendous explanatory power.
This was the 28th time #SCOTUS has granted emergency relief to the Trump administration since 1/20/25.

That matches the total number of grants during the entirety of the first Trump administration. And both of those totals dwarf the *four* grants of relief (two each) during the Bush & Obama admins.
#BREAKING: In non-Missouri emergency docket news, #SCOTUS *grants* the Trump administration's request for a stay in the SAVE case, allowing DHS to have access to certain Social Security information.

The three Democratic appointees dissent.

"Americans are to a greater and lesser extent all psychologically traumatized from watching more than a million Americans die from COVID, and explain that general sense of malaise through economic sentiment" has always struck me as a parsimonious explanation.

Too many athletes’ nicknames are just guys’ initials now. I miss when they were called stuff like The Chattanooga Charger and Big Parsimonious.

"He worships Nurgle" becoming the parsimonious explanation

I see these hot takes: "Academia had it coming for [reasons]."

The problem with this is that unless you can explain why immigrants, LGBTQ people, minorities, teachers, federal employees, aid workers, health professionals, etc., ALSO had it coming, you'll end up short of a parsimonious explanation.

i still think the most parsimonious answer is 'the post-war era had something special that slowly eroded over time'
At a certain point everyone needs to come to grips with the fact that the reason voters around the globe are electing the parties they are is because many of them are atavistic racist morons and not because [random policy you prefer] wasn’t enacted
How much of all the shit that has happened since, in both the US and UK, would not have happened if Obama had held the banks accountable for the housing crisis?

it's the most parsimonious explanation

Evoking whales when drawing sauropods may not be the most parsimonious approach, but it sure feels right.

This is a parsimonious explanation of a rather large portion of US history
Economic populism is popular it’s just always tempered by the desire to keep it whites only.
also like, i think people underestimate that economic populism *is* popular in the midwest: imo, it's why Ohio is swinging back towards the Ds

(not all states have the same demographics or political economy to allow for this)
