this is just a masterclass in why you shouldn’t believe news outlets reporting on police violence. just literally ignoring the most clear video evidence you could ask for. the only thing missing is the guy yelling “shooting specifically that woman now.”

I generally cleave to the advice from Strunk & White's The Elements of Style when it comes to avoiding the passive voice, except when I'm asked what happened to the last piece of cake.

If you struggle with passive voice, post a gig on Craigslist (or similar) looking for an English teacher close to where you live. Pay for a one-on-one mentored class specific to passive voice. Focused work will help you overcome this.
