It isn't believable a device in Before First Unlock state with a strong passphrase had all of the data extracted without obtaining the passphrase elsewhere. It would mean the disk encryption algorithms themselves have been cracked. It's not the first of these stories where the details don't add up.

oh yeah, just on the "biometrics" question for a sec: i can refuse to give out my aes256 disk encryption passphrase [5th amendment], i cannot refuse to give up my fingerprints
A lot of people don't get this. A document held in your residence also has legal protections. Also, get that biometric lock on your phone off of there jackass, and use a eight digit alphanumeric PW.

Reminder: Full Disk Encryption is your friend. Encrypt with a passphrase if at all possible.
