And both must be dismantled.

In Albert Square for the People vs Palantir Day of Action ✊

Our Campaigner @cameronboyle95.bsky.social drew the links between Palantir and the Hostile Environment:

Both are “hostile forces that violate the right to health, violate health and data sovereignty and facilitate state violence.”

This is why we are calling on your solidarity. We're coming together to fight for their jobs and their right stay. Time is running out, as many workers have less than a month left on their current visas.

Billed £31k. For NHS liver treatment.

Their crime? Being born overseas.

This is why I campaign for #PatientsNotPassports. To dismantle this injustice.

Would you pay this bill? For using a health service supposedly FREE FOR ALL? Thought not. Take action now ⤵️
After facing liver problems, our friend Atef received a £30,700.25 NHS bill. The suggested payment plan would make Atef and his family destitute.

👉🏽 ACT NOW! Email the heads of @royalberkshospital.bsky.social to give Atef a payment plan within his means: patientsnotpassports.co.uk/what-do-we-d...

💬 “What does it mean to have something where the edges are not so sharp? Where the lines are more blurred and people can move freely and access healthcare?”

These were just some of the questions we pondered at the #PatientsNotPassports National Gathering last weekend. 🧵
May 18, 2025 at 11:50 AM
Last weekend our #PatientsNotPassports organisers and community came together to learn and plan for the road ahead.

We're fighting for the universal right to healthcare regardless of immigration status. No Borders in the #NHS!

💬 “Ultimately, abolition is a verb, a practice.”

What an uplifting weekend at the #PatientsNotPassports National Gathering. ⚡️

An absolute joy to connect with organisers from across the country, all working towards the same goal: the abolition of borders in the NHS, once and for all. 🧵

Feeling inspired and connected and ready for action after this weekend's national gathering. Healthcare is a right for all, not a privilege for some. Until that is realised.... the fight continues. #PatientsNotPassports

💬 “Every grain of sand makes a difference.”

Was the eloquent way one speaker at @right-to-remain.bsky.social’s workshop in Sheffield described the approach to resisting injustice.

And it’s certainly the approach #PatientsNotPassports takes. Brick by brick, wall by wall… 🧵

This is a wonderful resource. There are fantastic campaigns (forgive me if you already know!) in UK - #docsnotcops and #patientsnotpassports and important work also being done on the “securitization of health” by MedAct - likely some crossover in useful tactics despite diff legal landscape

▪️ Data sharing between the NHS and the Home Office - due to unpaid debt, and ad hoc ways

▪️ The Immigration Health Surcharge - £624 pp/py, must be paid at the time of visa application

Faced with this injustice, the #PatientsNotPassports movement has organised and mobilised.
