We’ve had some delicious pattypans and tomatoes (grown in hubby’s allotment) and lots of other squash, lettuces & cucumbers from others :) Loving this delicious home-grown produce 😋

I love any squash, but pattypans are especially fun and delicious!

the pattypans we've been buying this year have been wonderful, hope the same is true for your homegrowns!

it feels like the oddball weather has been great for pattypans and strawberries both 🤷🏻‍♀️

It’s a very particular kind of pattypan, I have four other pattypans going, this is the best

I had yellow and green pattypans as controls, this one blew them out of the water (though they are tasty too)

In addition to the cute shape and firm texture, there’s a lot less risk of pattypans getting out of hand in size or quantity

Harvest day! Here's today's haul, and some glam shots of my garden. This pic really doesn't convey the scale of the produce; that broccoli is about the size of my head. More descriptions in the alts.

How do you cook the pattypans? I just got one in a produce box and I’ve never had one before.

I might need to get some pattypans from you. I wasn't able to get them started

Those white pattypans are really pretty

The tricolor pattypans will be interesting. The seeds came in the same packet but they were dyed, so I easily sorted them by color to guarantee one pair of each. The striped ones are totally new to me and I am excited.

Pattypans are known to the State of California to cause cancer or other reproductive harm.

The display in question. All produce (except the tin of beans) from my allotment or the Soup Garden at church, all will go towards the soup kitchen (they'll easily get through it in a week).

Try searching for White Scallop Squash. That's how I found it. These are just a weird variant I guess. They're huge by comparison to the regular pattypans I had.

Quick Pickled Summer Squash is a great way to preserve summer vegetables. Whether making Pickled Yellow Squash or Pickled Pattypans, it's quick and easy to make, tangy, and crunchy. Plus there are 2 irresistible Pickled Squash recipes to try! What is Summer Squash? The most common Summer Squash is Zucchini, followed by Yellow Squash and Pattypan Squash, which is my favorite.

Cool! Kind of like variations of a pattypan squash (but pattypans are summer squashes).
