Every October, PBOT crews gather at Portland International Raceway to practice driving snowplows on a closed course. This allows veteran drivers to train new drivers and gives them a chance to brush up on their skills.

Genuine question in good faith, isn’t the Streetcar ran by PBOT? Are they also affected directly by Trimet cuts?

Streetcar is owned and operated by PBOT with assistance from PSI and TriMet. TriMet provides the operators and writes the timetables. They historically have contributed to the budget (TriMet pays the city so they don't have to run a bus instead).

Leaf Day kicks off next week, but even if your neighborhood isn’t in a Leaf Zone, PBOT crews are working to pick up leaves & debris around the city. PBOT has committed to cleaning all city-maintained streets 2 times per year, then eventually 4 times per year as budget, staffing, and equipment allow.

PBOT started the Gravel Street Service in 2018. Over 5,000 Portland residences are located alongside gravel streets. Crews work on a three-year cycle, working from November through springtime, tackling all sections of the city over the course of 3 consecutive years.

PBOT crews work hard to keep more than 58,000 storm drains clear but with so many, we can’t get to them all. When you "adopt" a storm drain and clear surface debris, it allows our crews to focus on the worst of the clogs.
