#Pedestians
They do the same to pedestians.

How will I let everyone know how ALBERTAN I am if I can't drive a big truck with hiked-up suspension and use it to intimidate cyclists and/or pedestians in downtown Calgary????

This is my point. As a driver, you can check multiple times for pedestrians (as I did), but at some point you have to rely on others (drivers and pedestians) to follow the rules.

Not the laws they *wish* existed.
But the laws that exist.

I guess the #Minneapolis Park Board values Bicyclists more than #Pedestrians. 😔 #WarOnPedestrians

From the point of view of any pedestians or cyclists (or anyone in a normal car), the rush to SUVs is a tragedy. Just means more dead and injured people.

right on, We told them the war agaist pedestians drugs and people born outside the lines was racist, and they made fun of us for it. Now they are are about ten thousand miles past that limit and bad things are happening and they act all surprised

Y’know I’ve retweeted and posted lot of complaining about bad driving recently but this post reminded me that the MOST common “obstruction” I encounter driving on a day to day basis is:

2-3 cars/pedestians/cyclists at an intersection with everyone gesturing for the other to go first.
😂
on the tramway in Nantes and a pretty old woman gave her seat to a very old woman so I gave my seat to the pretty old woman then a man gave me his seat then a teenager gave a man his seat and then we all laughed, aren't people fantastic

You do tend to be harder to see than any cyclist, and sudden moves can be harder to predict, but even a little care on the drivers part can make a big difference in situations like that. (okay, I have been honked at for slowing down for a cyclist or an e-scooter users, Not to mention pedestians)

Ideally, one has dedicated bike lanes away from the pedestians. Second choice would be separated multi modal paths that a demarcated with a center lane, peds on the right, bikes on the left. This is my main route every day and there have been almost no reported collisions after years of use.

💥Very fine and inclusive transport vision. But puzzling how in the active mobility sections, the vision does not grasp that before people become passengers in the bus or train, they are mostly pedestians or cyclists..

👨‍⚕️👩‍⚕️Also in the health section, healthy mobility should include 🚶 or 🚲to 🚌 or🚄, no?

If you go to certain areas (WeHo, Montrose) its not like CC. They are packed. CC gets decent foot traffic from Apple, Amazon, Pinterest, and Sony. But other people who used to come to downtown CC, avoid it like the plague. They make you stop at every light, even if there are no cars, or pedestians.

i dare any city 2 block cabs & buses from city center, allow cars, onstreet parking... actual businesses return, population has to walk from perimeter, staying healthier, while waves of consumers ebb and flow throughout... willing to share with pedestians & cyclists, but we all need 2 be willing!

There are a couple yield signs in my neighborhood on 9th. A lot of time the cars don't yield. Its not great, be nice if Denver would put pedestians and people on bikes first.

Distracted pedestians and cyclists put themselves in a postion to be injured or killed. Enougj

Something I noticed, when it gets a little bit frosty, a lot more people drive, and the congestion causes a lot of idling. Many cyclists/pedestians feel it's 'too cold' to ride/walk, especially in the morning, and the cold.
