not tryna do numerology here but it does seem like there’s a rough periodicity component to our big crises

We got follow up time, and IT GETS BETTER! There is PERIODICITY! Which is about 8 hours longer, which is as long as the period for one exoplanet in the system, Beta Pic b!!! 🤯

Try harder for periodicity in alternative periodic tables, got it
Nerd pet peeve: when people arrange things that have NO INHERANT PERIODICITY into a "periodic table"

Vegetables are not periodic! Logical fallacies are not periodic!!! You cannot create a periodic table with them!!! The structure of your table reveals nothing!!!

This is essentially the premise to Severence, just with longer periodicity.

The data ALREADY shows periodicity: fewer people post on weekends (presumably because more people are out touching grass and not at a computer, ready to post).

COVID isn’t a seasonal respiratory virus. It’s a vascular virus that’s active for half the year/time.

A recent CDC analysis showed cases usually peak once in the summer (July through September) and again in the winter (from December through February).

Okay so now we’re needed again?

Is this going to be a daily or a weekly swing, or what is the periodicity here?
whoops, yesterday's false alarm proved premature.

About frikkin time this was said out loud! It's been obvious a long time.

"In conclusion, SARS-CoV-2 circulation in the United States has been meaningful year-round, but consistent peaks have occurred in late summer and winter since 2020"

The block posting method, where each trafficked person is given a stable of 50-100 accounts they need to make posts to throughout the day, is harder to detect through pure time analysis, but if the account survives detection long enough, you can spot the periodicity.

There's a lot of periodicity going on in these older neurons after 30 days in culture! (3D-SIM stack; orange is actin, green is ß2-spectrin, magenta is adducin, blue is neurofascin, LUTs from @kwolbachia.bsky.social)

So, this is exciting! We applied for 50+ hours in the latest MeerKAT cycle to confirm periodicity and I hope we get it!

It's the early days, but I think it's the start of something beautiful- a brand new way to learn about other worlds. 🪐

Maintenance periodicity is a thing. Advanced shit that gets punched to its limits, and then some. It takes labor to fix that, and underfunding that for so long for profit motives has some fucking consequences.

and get an unstable closed loop. Other things I'd think to look for are those in traditional control theory - steady states, poles, zeros, and periodicity.

This was awful. Caldwell is clearly out of touch with reality, his views are so stupid. My favorite was “voters wanted Trump because he would reunite the periodicity of agency retention with presidential elections” (in so many words). No. They voted for him to lower food prices and punish migrants.
Here is Ezra Klein sitting down with the New York Times resident segregationist. Cadwell quite literally thinks the Civil Rights Movement created a second constitution, damaging white men's right to free association (by which he means excluding Black people from public life).
