First fire in the wood stove for the season. The tiny cabin heats up fast. I already have the windows open. I’ll be out here splitting wood and sitting by the campfire all day if anyone wants to swing by. It’s a beautiful Fall day!

The geese are not passing through. I discovered this momma goose protecting her eggs and nest last weekend. It will be cute to see the baby geese paddling around the pond soon. Hopefully they stay protected from fox and other predators.

I always stop at the Blain Cemetery to visit my mom, brother, and grandparents when I’m out that way. It’s such a peaceful place tucked away at the western edge of Perry County.

Laurel Run flows next to campsite 75 and 88 in Tuscarora State Forest. Probably the best walk-in campsites that I know of in the area.
