David Steele archived pgBackRest on April 27 after thirteen years as the only maintainer. AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL, Azure, Supabase, Neon all profit from Postgres workloads pgBackRest underwrites. OpenSSF Alpha-Omega is the multi-vendor pattern. None signed.

Which DB do you use?

If it’s postgres checkout pgBackRest. I’m using that for automated backups to S3 with PITR. It does feel daunting at first, but pretty simple to setup after you get your head around it.
