Good news for Pinephone users! 🐧 The @opensuse.org image for the Pine64 Pinephone is being upgraded, with both Phosh and Plasma Mobile images coming soon. I had to add some tweaks and disable FDE by default (for now) to avoid overheating.

Has anyone made a child friendly device using #postmarketos ? Ie: no login process, only shows a limited number of curated apps, ideally can only go from showing app menu to one of the apps and back.

The #phosh interface and experience looks more complicated than I was hoping for.

Details matter: Spark made the notification that is shown after taking a screenshot actually useful. You can either open the screenshot in an image viewer or open the screenshot folder (video runs at 2x speed). This will be part of Phosh 0.58.

@phosh users: There are some regressions regarding OSK input (like the keyboard showing too often or text prediction not working) when using #phosh with apps using #gtk 4.24. So if possible please stick to 4.22 just a bit longer, until these are resolved.

Note that this also applies to Flatpaks […]

Dorazte na druhé plzeňské komunitní setkání věnované Linuxu na mobilních zařízeních. Programem vás opět provedou David Heidelberg a Petr Hodina a podíváte se na to, kam se svět mobilního Linuxu od prvního Hackday posunul. Tentokrát se akce zaměří například na BengalOS, immutable systém postavený na Debianu a prostředí Phosh, Mobile NixOS a možnosti, jak Nix dostat do vlastního telefonu. Řeč přijde také na práci s LLM nebo propojení Linuxu s Android Auto. Na místě si budete moct prakticky vyzkoušet prostředí Phosh na telefonech OnePlus 6, Xiaomi Poco F1 a Fairphone 5 a podívat se, jak dnes Linux na mobilních zařízeních funguje v praxi. Hackday je hlavně komunitní setkání, takže pokud řešíte vlastní projekt, problém nebo téma spojené s mobilním Linuxem, klidně ho přineste s sebou.
