I use nomacs as my photoviewer. It's FOSS. Good enough for me and you can zoom in on those crispy pixels even at native pixel size.

I think this might be the in-store equivalent

Yeah, I’m on Win11 and they’ve been forcing AI into everything including the photoviewer. Ran 4 prompts trying to erase some pixels and even when I got it to work, I am pretty sure is still used the AI.

PureRef is adjacent to what you're looking for i think

it's not a photoviewer but you can make canvasses of ref images and mood boards in it. Really handy.

noted, though i am primarily looking for a photoviewer to sift through things in the first place
