Last night I watched this cool 10 min long Soviet animation from 1977.

It uses an animation technique called "photographica" that is amazing. Kind of like rotoscoping, it creates smooth 3D movement that looks like CGI, but done without computers! 🤯

While this post and the comments below cover a far wider debate, we can't help remembering that 'Photographica World' carried an article on the history of speed cameras a few years ago, running from the 1890s thro' Gatso, Robot, Traffipax ( and even referencing a 'Columbo' episode...)

I saw your note about proofs, and that makes a ton of sense. I’m pretty new to photography, and I’ve found myself drawn to the old, odd, and unusual (esp. Nikon).

So I picked up this mystery of a camera at the recent Photographica show — a Mamiya/Sekor with no markings and a lens that didn't match any I could find in the listing of M42 lenses. It was in one of the "junk" bins, but I was curious enough to give it a try.... and the results with the first roll
