my little embedded C project for the PineTime smart watch is coming along. got display output basics working, and can draw a pixel, a line, or filled rects. so far all in less than 1kb of memory! this is fun as hell.

someone revived a $25 pinetime watch with up-to-date micropython and wasp-os. 64mhz, 64kb of ram, about 12kb left for apps after the stack takes its cut. and yes there's a guido app that shows a blocky guido van rossum on your wrist. jolly's wrist doesn't exist and he's still jealous

apparently there is only one open source smartwatch OS and it doesn't support anything remotely modern. I'm guessing it's just abandonware at this point

I would love to see projects like this being built using PineTime and the eventual PineTime Pro. How interesting it would be to play a game with a controller but then also have new ways to sense and interact with accessories like a watch or a necklace. ⌚🎮📱📻🖥️ #GameDev #Pine64 #WulfStudio #PixelArt
