Church of St Nicholas, Looe, Cornwall

A baptistery was designed in 1932 by Cowell, Drewitt & Wheatly. Carving work, of ships & sea creatures, carried out by Violet Pinwill.

Violet was one of the”Remarkable Pinwill Sisters”.

A spider’s web, part of the intricate carving of the pulpit at St Peter’s, Stoke Fleming . The pulpit was designed by Edmund H Sedding and created by one of the Pinwill sisters and installed in 1890/91.

A ‘Letter to the Editor’ of the Western Morning News says the carving was done by Violet Pinwill.

A round tub font with cabling around the circumference. Carved from Blue Horton stone, rather than Cornish polyphant. The font cost £45.
