A director once gave us a whole playscript where this had happened! It was quite a tricky puzzle as we tried to read it through.

It’s the first year I’ve been paid by PLR rights and I’m very giddy about it. There are people taking my robot nun playscript out of the library, it’s wild, it’s wonderful

Sometimes when I’m writing a scripted radiocast or a playscript for the American stage… I draw from my own feelings

The only playscript in Shakespeare's handwriting is a speech taken from the play 'Sir Thomas More'. It's a plea for tolerance. Today seems like a good day to share it.

Great work from everyone—Robert Preston, Dorothy McGuire, Shirley Knight, Eve Arden (*really* great), Angela Lansbury, and a lovely young man named Lee Kinsolving, who died young.

I'll have to go back and check the playscript to see where (as I vaguely recall) it's been softened.

Yes, I believe that too, I even wrote and scared some lady some weeks back who then freaked out on me.

But yes, the playscript so far rhymes pretty well with the NSDAP takeover of Germany in 1933.

In that regard I fully expect the Capitol to be dismissed before summer.

Also sorry to Gene Wolfe post yet again but he is the king of this, so many people skipped the chapter long playscript in CLAW OF THE CONCILIATOR where the plot is explained that he had to write an entire extra book going over it again
As an adult reader of Lord Of The Rings I can kind of take or leave the songs themselves but I am loving the bits after the songs where the characters go “huh, wrote that yourself did you?”
I'm not saying this is a good thing but if I'm reading a novel and come upon a big chunk of poetry or song lyrics, maybe written by the protagonist maybe even crucial to the plot, the only thing I think is: cool I can skip this page

In the film of Animal Crackers, Groucho sets up his Strange Interlude bit by explicitly mentioning both Eugene O'Neill and the Theatre Guild, and I wonder if in the original playscript they bothered to provide even that much context.

Read your way through Barrie's playscript—easily found online at Project Gutenberg—including his introduction and all his stage directions and commentary, and you will see everything there is to see.
