Plugstreet memorial were my GG uncle is remembered. He served with 1st Leicesters and was KIA during First Ypres.
After a run through the Plugstreets including the still unused, on In Flanders Fields, Plugstreet 4 we rewarded ourselves with Moules & Frites at the Cafe De La Grand Place in Ploegsteert.
60+km on the day & getting tired now.

A British WWI machine-gun bunker deep in Ploegsteert Wood, known to British troops as Plugstreet Wood.
After heavy fighting in late 1914 and early 1915, this sector of the Ypres Salient became relatively quiet. By 1916 it was used to rest and retrain units after tougher fighting elsewhere.

OTD 1914 my GG Uncle Pte John William Ellis was KIA at First Ypres, serving in 1st Leicesters. He is remembered at Plugstreet Memorial. He left a wife and child behind. Your duty Jonny done, RIP.

So Pogi wins yesterday, Adam wins 2day, that gets them to 94, count the Euro and World titles for Pogi you are at 96. Also Florian Vermeersch (I've been a fan since bumping into him on a Plugstreet) won the Gravel Worlds 2day, we are at 97! It does seem somewhat, to good to be true doesn't it?

I was treated to a fabulous tour of @ChartwellNT today, before giving a talk.

At a bike shop they'll have 'all-road bikes' between the road and gravel/mountain bikes...
So these are the all-road races and Strade is the only AR monument.
And I agree, I even love the small plugstreet bits on Gent-Wevelgem more than the Kemmel 🙂

Perfect for Gent-Wevelgem as it is between Plugstreet 2, Christmas Truce & no 3 the Catacombs but they only pass the once.
